On 14th November 2020 the NZNS hosted the annual Tihar celebration. This was done at The Western Springs Garden Community Hall. The Tihar event was preceded by a series of Deusi/Bhailo nights at numerous NZNS society members’ households which attracted great crowds. The Deusi/Bhailo nights were filled with enthusiasm and great fun was had.
The Tihar celebration itself started with an opening welcome and a Dipawali greeting by the President Mr Santosh Bhandari. Performances including songs, dances and Deusi/Bhailo came soon after. After an enjoyable floor dance - a closing speech was done by the Vice-President Mr Roshan Khadka. Some snacks were enjoyed to conclude the event including the delicious Tihar favourite Sel-Roti.
